An Environmental Technician assists with testing and sampling or monitoring needed for environmental clean-up efforts or projects to mitigate environmental pollution. Assists environmental engineers or environmental scientists. Collects air, water or soil samples, operates field test equipment and conducts laboratory research. Coordinates work at sites with contaminated soil or water, or hazardous waste clean-up sites.

Job Description
- Conduct sampling and monitor site conditions for compliance with environmental and other requirements and take appropriate action to ensure continued compliance.
- Monitor solid waste such as drums, hazardous materials collection sites, and reclamation sites for compliance with requirements
- Assist in the installation and setup of instruments and equipment, coordinate the timely recycling and disposition of materials and other company assets in compliance with applicable legal and other requirements and track and report the recycling and disposition of materials and other company assets as directed.
- Operate and monitor basic electronic equipment and perform simple preventive maintenance.
- Develop a basic knowledge of site environmental policies and procedures and assist or provide training on environmental issues.
- Participate in regular audits and inspections of operational areas to ensure compliance with site environmental policies, procedures, and Environmental Management System requirements. ## What You Bring To Freeport
