Job Description

What to Expect The Energy Reliability Lab Assistant is a team-oriented support role based out of the Palo Alto facility, with responsibilities that may extend across Bay Area lab locations. Core responsibilities include rigorous inventory management of consumables and test equipment, ensuring materials are properly tracked, stocked, and readily available to support uninterrupted lab operations, as well as maintaining overall lab cleanliness and workspace organization in accordance with Tesla's high standards. Additional responsibilities span tool upkeep and calibration support, assisting engineers and technicians with test setup and teardown, coordinating environmental chamber repairs and maintenance efforts with external vendors and internal maintenance teams, ensuring compliance with EHS and safety protocols, and contributing to documentation and coordination efforts that keep lab operations running smoothly. You will be challenged daily to develop and implement innovative ideas that drive operational efficiency across multiple Bay Area sites, working alongside experienced Engineers and Technicians in a fast-paced, high-performance environment where excellence and continuous growth are the standard. What You'll Do Organize and maintain lab equipment, parts & tools Manage overall lab cleanliness including work benches, desks, aisle ways, toolboxes Set expectations for lab users of what is expected for a uniform workspace Support engineers and technicians on test site preparation and end of life clean up Order and manage lab consumables Motivated to work in a high-paced, dynamic environment Willingness to learn new and innovative technologies Demonstrates a safety-first attitude What You'll Bring Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work Able and willing to lift at least 50 lbs. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
