How will you make an impact? Micro Lab Tech will be responsible for supporting and applying approved microbiological techniques and methodologies used in environmental monitoring laboratory testing. The key function of this position is to use good aseptic lab practices and be responsible for supporting accessioning, enumeration, and identification of viable environmental samples under the supervision of the Lab Supervisor. What will you do? Perform routine and non-routine tests and analyses using the appropriate technical equipment and instruments. Proper and proficient execution of all applicable test procedures and test protocols Collect and report valid and consistent test results/data with minimal variability Analyze retrieved data and prepare reports for laboratory management Perform quality control and calibrate equipment if necessary Ensure laboratory activities are performed in compliance with procedures and safety guidelines when handling, storing, and disposing of hazardous or bio-hazardous materials How will you get rewarded? Compensation and Benefits Salary range of $24.00 - $32.00 hourly (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with industry data.) Education and Experience Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a scientific field preferred 1-5 years of experience working in a basic microbiology laboratory A combination of education, training and related experience may meet requirements. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills. Familiarity with microbiological techniques (e.g. enumeration, biochemical/ gram stain analysis) and Biological Safety Level 2 (BSL-2) rates spaces. Strong attention to detail Self-directed, innovative, and creative thinker. Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills. Excellent organizational skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites and other relevant computer programs Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement; ability to use concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios Ability to write correspondence and reports TSS is a passionate equal opportunity employer and celebrates diversity.
