Job Description

Alpha Analytical Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Tech Assit to join our fast-paced environmental laboratory in Ukiah, California. Since 1976, Alpha Analytical Laboratories has grown into one of California's premier environmental testing laboratories. Our network of laboratories specializes in compliance testing for the California marketplace under the regulatory guidelines of the California Water Board and the Federal EPA. In this role, you will perform a variety of analytical testing on water and soil samples for our clients. Testing may include microbiology, wet chemistry, inorganic chemistry, and other analytical methods depending on laboratory needs and training. What You'll Do Perform routine analyses on water and soil samples in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures and client requirements. Perform calibration, operation, and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment. Prepare laboratory media, standards, and reagents. Maintain accurate daily logbooks and quality control documentation. Monitor and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies. Clean and wash laboratory glassware as needed. Follow laboratory quality control procedures and established safety practices. Work collaboratively with other laboratory team members to meet daily testing requirements and turnaround times. Perform additional laboratory duties as needed to support daily operations. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred, but not required. Previous laboratory experience preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs and LIMS is a plus. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team. Flexibility to adjust to changing workload demands. Ability to work accurately and effectively under pressure. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds . Must be comfortable working with chemicals and wastewater as part of analytical procedures. Work is performed in an environmental laboratory setting and requires adherence to laboratory safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements.
