An Environmental Technician assists with testing and sampling or monitoring needed for environmental clean-up efforts or projects to mitigate environmental pollution. Assists environmental engineers or environmental scientists. Collects air, water or soil samples, operates field test equipment and conducts laboratory research. Coordinates work at sites with contaminated soil or water, or hazardous waste clean-up sites.
Environmental Spill Response Technician We are looking for a dependable, hands-on Environmental Spill Response Technician to perform hydraulic oil and petroleum spill cleanup at customer job sites throughout Southwest Florida. This is a field-based position working around construction equipment, trucks, industrial machinery, and other hydraulic equipment. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working outdoors, and able to respond quickly and professionally when a spill occurs. Responsibilities Respond to hydraulic oil, petroleum, fuel, and other hydrocarbon spills Contain and clean spills on pavement, soil, equipment, and customer property Apply spill-control and remediation products according to established procedures Operate pressure washers, pumps, vacuums, sprayers, and other cleanup equipment Properly handle, document, and dispose of contaminated materials when required Take before-and-after photos and complete job documentation Maintain spill-response equipment, supplies, and assigned service vehicle Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, and job-site personnel Follow OSHA, environmental, and company safety procedures Participate in emergency/after-hours response when scheduled Ideal Candidate Experience in environmental cleanup, spill response, industrial services, construction, heavy equipment, pressure washing, waste management, or a related field preferred Mechanical or hydraulic experience is a plus Comfortable working outdoors and in physically demanding conditions Able to lift 50+ lbs Valid driver's license and clean driving record Dependable and able to work independently Strong attention to safety and detail Willing to complete required environmental and safety training What We Offer Full-time position Competitive hourly pay based on experience Overtime and after-hours opportunities Company vehicle and equipment for field work Paid training Benefits and paid time off Opportunity to grow with an established hydraulic service company expanding into environmental spill response This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on field work, operating equipment, solving problems, and working in a different environment every day.
