Environmental Services Tech I (EVS I)
FULL TIME 2ND SHIFT
The primary goal of Environmental Services is to provide a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.
Job Description:
The Environmental Service Technician I is responsible for executing the daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. EVS Tech will have contact with patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff. Contact may include physical, psychological, educational, and safety related and should be appropriate to the specific demographics of patients served in assigned service areas.
Requirements:
Ensuring timely room turns related to patient throughput within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. Empties trash, cleans trash can as needed, relines can with clean liner. Removes infectious waste and fills sharps containers as needed. Damp dusts furniture, ledges, and fixtures with a germicidal agent. Dry mops, wet mops floors and vacuums carpeting. High dust vents, over bed lights and other items over shoulder height. Operates several types of vacuum cleaners and other miscellaneous cleaning tools. Expected at times to wear personal protection equipment to include rubber gloves, eye protection, gowns, booties, masks, and hair covers. Other duties as assigned such as performing alternate EVS aid responsibilities as needed.
Essential Qualifications:
Prefer completion of High School Diploma or equivalent. Safely and properly lift and transport items weighing up to 50 lbs. Safely and properly pull, push, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch and stretch.
