Assists environmental engineers or environmental scientists. Collects air, water or soil samples, operates field test equipment and conducts laboratory research. Coordinates work at sites with contaminated soil or water, or hazardous waste clean-up sites.

Job Description

Engineer - Full Time
POSITION SUMMARY
Performs and monitors routine and preventative maintenance activities to ensure utilities, environmental systems and other building systems operate properly and efficiently. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum Work Experience Required:
Must be available to work various shifts required.

Must be able to read and write English required.
Minimum Work Experience Preferred:
Previous maintenance/engineering experience preferred.
Other Required:
Current Nevada or California Driver's License with clean driving record required.
POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Preventative MaintenancePerforms and monitors routine and preventative maintenance activities to ensure utilities, environmental systems and other building systems operate properly and efficiently.

Performs daily work orders and daily maintenance as required.

Checks and replaces equipment, and makes other related repairs.

Performs minor repairs on electrical equipment, plant machinery and plumbing as required.

Performs \woodworking using carpentry tools.

Changes depleted medical gases as required.

Operates generators and back-up power equipment with the skills and competency required.

Assists other mechanics in servicing and repairing of machinery and mechanical equipment.

Organization of storage areas onsite and offsite.

Assists in the receiving and delivering of packages to departments.

Performs snow shoveling, applying ice melt in winter as required.

Completes all required documentation, to include logs, forms, and reports in an accurate and timely fashion.

Critical SystemsPerforms fire drills independently.

Operates and resets fire systems and demonstrates knowledge of fire zones.

Operates gas and water shut offs and transfers to emergency systems.

Performs medical gas system shutoff.
