We're hiring a part-time Water Sampling Technician to support water quality testing at a VA medical facility in Cleveland, OH. About the Role As a Water Sampling Technician, you'll collect water and steam samples on-site, take field measurements, and complete detailed documentation to federal healthcare water-quality standards (AAMI ST108). This is a hands-on, detail-driven field role inside an operating medical facility. This is an ongoing, long-term part-time position. Because our contract requires the same technician on every visit, we're looking for someone dependable who wants a steady role. What You'll Do Collect water and steam samples at designated points following standard operating procedures Take field readings; temperature, pH, free chlorine, and resistivity, using meters and test strips Complete accurate chain-of-custody and sample documentation Follow strict aseptic technique, hospital PPE, and infection-prevention protocols Calibrate and maintain field equipment Submit records on schedule and coordinate sampling visits Schedule Part-time and cyclical: a monthly sampling visit plus heavier quarterly cycles Performed during normal facility business hours, approximately 7:30 AM-4:00 PM, Monday-Friday Hours vary by cycle - lighter most months, busier during quarterly sampling What You Need Reliable transportation, with a vehicle able to carry sample coolers and supplies Ability to pass a federal background investigation and obtain VA facility badging Authorization to work in the United States Strong attention to detail and reliability following written procedures Able to perform the essential functions — standing for periods, carrying supplies, accessing sample points in utility/mechanical areas, and lifting up to approximately 40 lbs. Comfortable working inside a hospital/clinical environment under escort Nice to Have (not required) Experience with water, environmental, or laboratory sampling Water/wastewater treatment operator certification or coursework Familiarity with chain-of-custody documentation Experience in a hospital, sterile processing, or clinical setting What We Offer Paid, structured training and field qualification Steady, ongoing part-time work with an established federal contractor Mileage reimbursement for travel between assigned work sites.
