Sphere 3 Environmental is seeking an experienced Field Technician who desires a challenging career to join our well-established team of Environmental Scientists to participate in projects throughout the Gulf Coast. This position is based out of Longview, Texas. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and technologically savvy individual with the vision and drive to apply state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies to a wide range of biological, ecological, land surveying, and geospatial projects. The technician will work within a team, led by an experienced field lead and will be responsible for collecting all required field data for the preparation of technical reports and deliverables for both public and private clients. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Environmental sampling of soil, water, groundwater, and air Perform a wide variety of field duties for both routine/scheduled and emergency environmental projects to include: inspection, maintenance, monitoring, construction oversight, air monitoring, and sampling efforts at the project sites Completes detailed, accurate field notes, photographs, and field sketches and prepares daily field reports in a timely manner Collects samples from the field (soil, groundwater, surface water, drinking water, etc.) in accordance with established procedures Maintains and operates field equipment/instrumentation as needed in accordance with specified procedures
Experience and Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of field experience B.S. in environmental science, biology, or related field is preferred 1 - 2 years of wetland delineation experience is preferred Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently if required. Strong team-player skills. Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability and willingness to travel regionally and overnight 50-75% of the time (including working outdoors in adverse weather conditions) Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills Attention to detail along with strong organizational skills Strong problem-solving abilities and aptitude Positive attitude; good interpersonal skills Must pass a pre-employment drug test and will be subject to random drug & alcohol testing. Follow all safety and security procedures. Ensures the safety of all crew members, clients, and the public Represent Sphere 3 Environmental while interfacing with public and private sector clients and the general public.
