Waste Services

Position Summary:

The Environmental Science Intern will support VLS Environmental Solutions by assisting with environmental compliance, field operations, data collection, sustainability initiatives, and special projects. This internship provides hands-on experience in environmental services, regulatory compliance, waste management, and environmental health and safety practices. The intern will work closely with operational and environmental leaders while gaining exposure to real-world environmental challenges and solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with environmental data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Support environmental compliance activities and regulatory documentation.

Participate in facility inspections, audits, and field observations.

Assist with sustainability and waste reduction initiatives.

Review environmental permits, policies, and procedures.

Support environmental project management activities and tracking.

Compile and analyze environmental performance metrics.

Assist with research related to environmental regulations and industry best practices.

Collaborate with operations, safety, and environmental teams on special projects.

Prepare presentations and reports for leadership review.

Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Natural Resources, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field. Junior or Senior status by fall of 2027.

3.0 GPA

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Interest in environmental compliance, sustainability, and industrial operations.
