Staff Development Coordinator / Infection Preventionist (RN) Little Sisters of the Poor-Baltimore Province - 3.9 Mobile, AL Job Details 16 hours ago Qualifications RN License Team leadership Full Job Description About Us Little Sisters of the Poor is a faith-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing compassionate, person-centered care to the elderly poor. We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse who is passionate about education, quality care, and infection prevention to join our leadership team. Position Summary The Staff Development Coordinator / Infection Preventionist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering orientation, ongoing education, and competency programs for employees while promoting excellence in resident care. This position also oversees the Home's Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP), ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and best practices. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and facilitate new employee orientation and ongoing staff education. Develop and maintain competency-based education programs for clinical staff. Ensure compliance with required annual education and regulatory training. Serve as the facility's Infection Preventionist by developing, implementing, and monitoring the Infection Prevention and Control Program. Conduct infection surveillance, reporting, investigations, and outbreak management. Collaborate with leadership on Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI), safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance. Develop and present infection prevention education and in-service training. Maintain current knowledge of healthcare regulations and infection prevention standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Experience in staff development, nursing education, nursing leadership, rehabilitation, geriatric, or psychiatric nursing preferred. Infection Prevention training or certification preferred (or willingness to obtain). Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and documentation skills. Strong leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work collaboratively in a mission-driven healthcare environment.
