Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Infection Prevention Nurse to lead our infection control initiatives across our community. In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention strategies aligned with healthcare regulations and CDC guidelines. Your expertise will ensure a safe environment for residents and staff by overseeing infection control practices, conducting staff education, and managing data related to infectious diseases. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on public health within a vibrant senior living community. Duties Develop, review, and update infection prevention policies in accordance with CDC guidelines, OSHA standards, long-term care regulations, and healthcare infection control best practices Conduct comprehensive assessments of infection risks through patient observation, microbiology analysis, and epidemiology data collection Lead infection control training sessions for staff on aseptic techniques, disease prevention policies, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Monitor resident health status continuously through patient monitoring techniques and documentation review to identify early signs of infectious diseases Oversee the management of medical records related to infections, ensuring HIPAA compliance and accurate documentation of infection incidents Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans addressing infectious disease care and infection control measures Manage data management systems to track infection rates, analyze trends, and generate reports for management and regulatory agencies Skills Critical care experience combined with hospital or acute care background is highly desirable, but not required. Extensive knowledge of infection control regulations, disease prevention policies, and public health guidelines including CDC standards Strong understanding of microbiology, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to infectious diseases Proven leadership skills in team management and staff education on healthcare infection prevention practices Experience with data collection, management systems (MDS), medical records review, and documentation review processes Familiarity with long-term care regulations, epidemiology principles, OSHA standards, HIPAA compliance, and long-term care policies Excellent patient observation skills coupled with the ability to monitor patient monitoring protocols effectively Join us at Stonehaven Senior Living as an Infection Prevention Nurse where your expertise will help foster a safe environment that promotes health and well-being for our residents.
