Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Infection Control Preventionist to lead our infection prevention and control initiatives across healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in healthcare infection prevention, epidemiology, and compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring infection control policies to ensure patient safety, staff well-being, and regulatory adherence. The Infection Control Preventionist will serve as a vital resource for clinical teams, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement in infection prevention practices. Experience

• Must have worked in a hospital setting for 1-3 years as an LPN/RN with working knowledge of blood borne pathogens and infection control & prevention methods. Must be profecient in computer skills to include Microsoft word, Excel and Power Point. Credentials required
• Certification in Injection Prevention Control (CIC) preferred , however, level of clinical experience will be considered. Education required
• High School Diploma
• BSN preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing Duties Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive infection prevention programs aligned with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines and local regulations.

Conduct routine surveillance of infectious diseases, utilizing data management and analysis tools to identify trends and areas for improvement. Review medical records, documentation, and infection data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and effective reporting. Provide education and training to healthcare staff on aseptic techniques, disease prevention policies, OSHA standards, HIPAA regulations, and hospital-specific protocols. Monitor patient observation and health status to promptly identify potential infection risks or outbreaks. Lead investigations of infection incidents or outbreaks, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to implement corrective actions. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of microbiology, physiology, anatomy, epidemiology, and public health principles related to infectious diseases. Ensure hospital regulatory compliance by adhering to state healthcare regulations and hospital infection control policies. Collaborate with management on infection prevention management strategies, including data collection, interpretation, and reporting for quality improvement initiatives. Promote occupational health practices that protect staff from occupational exposures while maintaining a safe environment for patients and personnel. Experience Proven experience in healthcare settings such as hospitals or assisted living facilities with a focus on infection prevention or epidemiology. Demonstrated expertise in managing infection control programs within acute care environments or long-term care facilities. Strong background in microbiology, infectious disease care, disease prevention policy development, and public health initiatives. Experience with data collection systems, data analytics, and interpretation of complex datasets related to infectious diseases. Leadership experience supervising teams of healthcare professionals or infection control staff. Familiarity with hospital regulatory compliance standards including OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), and state healthcare regulations. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, MDS (Minimum Data Set) processes for long-term care settings, and documentation review procedures. Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences while fostering a team-oriented environment focused on safety excellence.
