In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention programs to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors. Your expertise in infectious disease care, microbiology, and epidemiology will drive initiatives that promote a culture of safety and compliance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on public health through proactive infection control strategies and data management. Responsibilities Design and oversee infection prevention policies aligned with current healthcare standards and regulations, including OSHA and HIPAA guidelines. Conduct comprehensive patient observation and monitoring to identify potential infection risks promptly. Lead infection control education sessions for staff, emphasizing aseptic techniques, OSHA compliance, and best practices in microbiology. Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to infection rates, outbreak investigations, and epidemiological trends to inform strategic decisions. Review medical records and documentation to ensure accurate reporting of infection incidents and compliance with regulatory requirements. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in acute care, assisted living, or hospital environments to implement effective infection control measures. Manage data collection systems related to infectious disease care and patient safety initiatives while maintaining strict confidentiality under HIPAA regulations. Qualifications Proven experience in critical care, hospital settings, or assisted living environments with a focus on infectious disease care. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, microbiology, epidemiology, and public health principles related to infection prevention. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and documentation review processes. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and influence best practices across departments. Experience with data management systems for tracking infection rates and patient monitoring outcomes. Knowledge of OSHA standards related to occupational health and safety in healthcare environments. Excellent communication skills for training staff and collaborating with healthcare professionals on infection control strategies.
