8a-4:30p (Full-Time) Our Infection Control/Wound Care Nursing Partners will: Instruct and document training of staff in policy and procedures pertinent to infection control. Develop and maintain infection prevention and antibiotic stewardship program Update infection control and would care policies Ensure appropriate intervention and education occur for staff and volunteers regarding healthcare infection trends, and outbreaks Educate staff, volunteers, residents and families on infection prevention Audit wounds routinely to ensure proper treatment and documentation and skin assessments have been completed Round bi-weekly with NP wound care nurse provider Provide reports for QAPI regarding wounds and infection control Complete fit testing for new employees and annually Identify areas for improvement Take weekend on call clinical/staffing as assigned. Rotating schedule We require our Infection Control/Wound Care Nursing Partners to: Have previous experience in a long-term care facility required Have an RN in the State of Nebraska or a compact state with at least one year nursing experience in a LTC facility preferred Have specialty training in Infection Control through accredited continuing education. (Incumbents with no previous certification will have up to six (6) months from their start date to acquire the appropriate certification.) Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is required. Possess a love for people-especially the elderly
