Infection Preventionist RN 1120 Alps Road, Wayne, NJ 07470 Full-time Full-time Lead Infection Prevention. Promote Clinical Excellence. Protect Our Residents. The Alps at Wayne Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center is seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our leadership team as a Full-Time Infection Preventionist . This is an excellent opportunity for a clinically driven nurse who is passionate about infection prevention, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and resident safety within a skilled nursing and rehabilitation environment. The Infection Preventionist is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program while working collaboratively with nursing leadership, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to maintain the highest standards of resident care. Conduct ongoing surveillance for healthcare-associated infections and communicable diseases. Monitor, analyze, and trend infection data while implementing strategies to reduce infection rates. Investigate potential outbreaks and coordinate appropriate interventions. Educate and train employees on infection prevention practices, isolation procedures, hand hygiene, and PPE. Conduct infection prevention audits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with the Director of Nursing, Medical Director, Quality Assurance Committee, and interdisciplinary team. Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives. Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and required regulatory records. Stay current with evolving infection prevention guidelines and implement best practices throughout the facility. Qualifications for IP Registered Nurse Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey required. Successful completion of an Infection Preventionist training course is required. Previous Infection Prevention experience in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, long-term care, or healthcare setting strongly preferred. Thorough knowledge of CDC, CMS, OSHA, and state infection control regulations. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to educate, mentor, and collaborate effectively with clinical staff. Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
