Job Description
The Infection Control Practitioner is a professional nurse who is responsible for ensuring compliance with state, federal and Joint Commission standards relating to infection control. Reports to the Chief Executive Officer. The Infection Control Practitioner is responsible for the planning, development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of the hospital wide infection control program. The Infection Control Practitioner collaborates with and acts as a consultant for the department managers and staff. Advises implements and evaluates measures necessary to prevent the spread of infections within the hospital and community. Serves as Nurse Administrator on-call (as necessary) providing leadership and management to personnel during off hours. Patients need care 24/7 and facility employees must be available to provide that care. Employees are to care for patients regardless of the patient's personal characteristics.
