It provides long-term and skilled nursing service. the facility has 162 nursing home, skilled-nursing beds. Services for residents are provided 24/7, focusing on maintaining or improving their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being under a personalized plan of care developed by licensed health professionals. Manage Long Term Care Infection Control Program by developing goals and priorities, policies and procedures, operating manuals and reporting systems to provide surveillance and control of infectious conditions and diseases. How does it get done? This job gets done by performing tasks such as: 1) Conducts surveillance to determine the prevalence of infections and concerns related to infection control and employee health. 2) Reviews health records, laboratory culture and sensitivity reports, antibiotic usage and suspected infection reports to identify and monitor infections and infectious conditions. 3) Maintains records, files, statistics and databases to assess trends and assist in investigations of possible infection sources and exposures or outbreaks. 4) Conducts investigations on needle stick injuries and implement guidelines for the proper treatment and management of employees injured with contaminated sharps, blood or body fluid exposure. 5) Participates in regulatory surveys and coordinates with State Epidemiologist, CDC, OSHA and other Infection Control and Prevention experts to meet local, state and national health requirements to report notifiable diseases, compare data, analysis and other information to assist in the surveillance and control of outbreak of communicable diseases. 6) Provides infection control and prevention reports for hospital leadership, governing body and the Performance Improvement Committee. 7) Writes reports and memos to communicate infection control activities, problems, recommendations and follow up actions. 8) Assists the IC Committee in establishing and implementing the surveillance systems for evaluating and reporting infections. 9) Keeps leadership informed if IC activities. Minimum Qualification Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements, or eligibility for a temporary license issued for employment at a specific institution in New Mexico and five (5) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification.
