Join the BryLin Hospital team as a full-time Infection Prevention and Employee Health RN and make a difference in the lives of individuals of all ages seeking compassionate mental health care. Join Our Dynamic Team as an Infection Prevention and Employee Health Nurse! Are you passionate about promoting a healthy and safe work environment? We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Infection Prevention and Employee Health Nurse to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of our staff and maintaining a culture of safety within our hospital. Employee Health Nurse/ Infection Control Nurse Responsible for the health and safety of hospital employees and patients by managing employee health services and overseeing infection prevention and control practices. Employee Health Services Obtain medical information via e-mail from onboarding new employees and review all criteria has been met per Brylin policy before orientation. Maintain compliance with NYS vaccination mandates and facility immunization policies Serve as a resource to clinical and non-clinical staff regarding illness/infection prevention and employee health issues Maintain confidential employee health records in compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards Manage employee illness reporting and fitness-for-duty determinations in collaboration with HR and Medical Staff Conduct employee health assessments following exposures, injuries, or illness (e.g., bloodborne pathogen exposure, respiratory illness) Collaborate with medical staff, nursing leadership, environmental services, and quality improvement teams Give yearly influenza vaccines. Have staff sign declinations and wear masks per the CDC if they decide not to get the vaccine. Update medical and tuberculosis information. Infection Prevention & Control Develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention and control plan. Help develop and update policies specific to the psychiatric care setting Conduct surveillance for healthcare-associated infections and report findings to leadership and regulatory bodies as required Investigate and manage infectious disease outbreaks, including employee and patient exposure follow-up Monitor adherence to isolation precautions, hand hygiene, PPE use, and preform facility safety & IC rounds Collaborate with Environmental Services to monitor waste management practices, and environmental cleaning standards Conduct ongoing surveillance for healthcare-associated infections (HAis) and communicable diseases Create an Infection Control Committee Participate in emergency preparedness planning related to infectious disease events Provide employee education related to infection prevention, exposure management, and workplace safety Regulatory Compliance & Reporting Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards (e.g., DOH, CMS, OSHA, The Joint Commission) Prepare for and participate in regulatory surveys, audits, and inspections Maintain required logs, reports, and documentation related to employee health and infection control
Skills:
Foster positive and professional interactions with team members and peers, promoting a supportive and collaborative work environment. Demonstrate proficiency in mathematics and computer skills, effectively utilizing technology to streamline processes and maintain accurate records. Possess strong communication skills, enabling clear and concise understanding of both oral and written directions.
Education:
Current NYS RN license is required, reflecting your commitment to excellence in nursing practice. Bachelors degree in nursing required. Masters preferred Valid BLS certification, highlighting your dedication to maintaining life-saving skills.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Occupational or Employee Health, showcasing your expertise in employee well-being and infection prevention. and be a part of an organization that inspires patients and their families to fully reach their potential. Must have the ability to pass pre-employment background checks including a drug screen.
