Description Job Summary:
Performs direct observation of patient care and support staff to evaluate for completion of proper hand hygiene following established policies and procedures. Submit data collected using a secure web application for compilation and feedback to departments. Supports Infection Prevention and Control department efforts to improve patient safety and infection prevention by providing data needed to improve hand hygiene adherence. Creates audit schedule and completes required number of hand hygiene observations per week/ month as directed by Infection Prevention and Control Practitioners. Participates in scheduled team meetings as appropriate.

High School Graduate Completion of Hand Hygiene Auditor Training within first week of assignment to the role.

Submits hand hygiene observations using the Purell
SMARTLINK
Observation App on Smartphone/Computer. Responsible for creating their schedule for observation and complete required number of hand hygiene observations per week/month as directed by Infection Prevention and Control Practitioners. Participates in scheduled team meetings as appropriate
