Job Description
Unit Manager (RN/LPN) Northridge Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our leadership team as a Unit Manager . Position Summary As the Unit Manager, you will oversee the daily clinical operations of your assigned nursing unit while providing leadership, mentorship, and support to nursing staff. Working closely with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary team, you'll help ensure exceptional resident outcomes, regulatory compliance, and a positive experience for residents and families. This position may include either a Wound Care or Infection Prevention focus, depending on experience and facility needs. What You'll Do Lead and supervise the day-to-day operations of your assigned nursing unit Coach, mentor, and support RNs, LPNs, and CNAs Conduct clinical rounds and monitor resident care Ensure individualized care plans are implemented and updated Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment Maintain compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members Assist with admissions, discharges, and resident care coordination Provide leadership support in the absence of the Director of Nursing Wound Care Responsibilities Assess and treat pressure injuries, surgical wounds, and other complex skin conditions Develop and implement evidence-based wound care plans Monitor healing progress and adjust treatment as needed Maintain accurate clinical documentation Educate residents, families, and staff on wound prevention and treatment Collaborate with providers to achieve optimal healing outcomes Infection Prevention Responsibilities Conduct infection surveillance and monitor infection trends Investigate exposure incidents and implement corrective actions Educate and train staff on infection prevention practices Ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, and state infection control guidelines Assist with policy development and regulatory readiness Collaborate with healthcare providers and public health agencies when needed Qualifications Required Current RN or LPN license in good standing Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills Excellent communication and leadership abilities Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities Preferred Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience Leadership or supervisory experience Wound Care experience (for Wound Care role) Infection Prevention experience (for Infection Prevention role) Infection Prevention Certification (IPCO) or willingness to obtain Why Join Northridge Health & Rehabilitation?
