Full Job Description Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Formulates and develops new products; oral solid dosage dietary supplements (tablets, capsules and powders), based on customer's specifications, label and/or sample. Coordinates new product formulation development and modifies existing formulations as required. Prepares nutraceutical formulations as required by test methods and performs all necessary calculations associated with the test analysis Optimizes ingredient functionality, product functionality, product formulations and product enhancement to improve quality, cost, and manufacturing of new and current products. Develops Supplement and Nutritional Facts for formulated products Reviews new and existing Master Formulas. Prepares written monograph's product and writes technical and progress reports Researches clinical studies of active ingredients. Provides technical support to domestic and international customers. Reviews documentation required for the international registration of products. Monitors, evaluates, and interprets data from all phases of design and development of a product Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science or Chemistry 3 - 5 years' experience Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred Knowledge in GMP regulations Familiar with laboratory equipment and all production stages (blending, compression, etc.) Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift materials up to 25kg
Typical Work Conditions:
Works frequently in an office environment in front of a monitor. Works also in the food laboratory and visits the Production area. Person will be subject to food and nutritional bulk ingredients, which may affect the respiratory system or the skin, including an environment subject to odors, dust or airborne allergens. Exposure to noise.
