Job Description
Job Overview We are excited to welcome a motivated and curious Product Development Intern to join our innovative research team. As a key member of our R&D efforts, you will support ongoing projects by assisting with scientific research, data collection, and analysis to help develop new products and improve existing ones. Work with the product development team to support new sand current initiatives. Tasks may include but are not limited to sample preparation for shipment, ingredient substitution, product tasting, taste panel evaluation. Communication with internal departments will be needed. If you're passionate about science, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to impactful projects, this role is perfect for you! Duties Sample preparation, formulas to be provided by R&D Team. Includes sauce preparation Pizza crust topping with meat, vegetables, herbs etc. Wrapping for shipment Packaging and labeling for shipment Independent creation of bench-top product prototypes based on criteria provided by R&D team. Documentation required, including readings from lab equipment to organoleptic descriptions and general observations. Sample shelf-life evaluation, clear documentation of results and recommendations for improvement if applicable Ability to organize work, follow directions, and complete work on time is a must Follow-through on sample refinements provided by project leader Requirements Currently studying or recently completed education coursework related to food industry, i.e., Culinary, Food Service, Food Science Interest in food creation and comfort in a kitchen environment General cooking/kitchen experience Proficiency in the use of MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other software specific to function. Use of basic lab equipment necessary, digital scales, BRIX, Bostwick, electric and gas ovens, thermometers, pH meter at minimum. Training available.
