Hiring Agency General Government Cabinet | Department of Agriculture Location 111 Corporate Drive Frankfort, KY 40601 USA Description Would you like to work in an agency that has a daily impact on every Kentuckian's health, safety, finances, and well-being? Then you should apply for a position with the Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA), where we continue to make "Kentucky Proud"! We are looking for a dynamic Agricultural Market Development Specialist in our Office of Agricultural Marketing, Livestock Division. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Coordinate and manage statewide protein grading program and marketing assistance with Ky. producers, processors, butcher's shops and other industry partners. Collects carcass data, including quality grades, that can be used to promote the demand and increase the supply of Kentucky produced proteins. Serve as a liaison between producers and processors with goals to improve product quality and market readiness. Provide collected information to the USDA Quality Assurance Division. Provides technical assistance to farmers, producers, and consumer groups regarding protein market development through correspondence, meetings and outreach initiatives. Attend required USDA trainings and continuing education opportunities in order to provide meat grading services that comply with USDA standards for Kentucky producers. Some travel will be required in this position. Minimum RequirementsEDUCATION
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in agriculture, business administration, economics, marketing or a related field.EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS
