Always Bagels, Original Bagel, Dutch Maid, Hometown Foods USA, and Just Bagels, together, create a market leading producer of authentic New York style kettle-boiled, hearth-baked bagels and high-quality cake products sold into the in-store bakery, club store, foodservice, and convenience store channels. The Food Technologist position is based at Dutch Maid Bakery, Dorchester, MA. The work schedule is on-site, 5 days/week. Hours 8am-5pm Key Responsibilities Nutritional Labeling & Documentation Maintain the product nutritional labeling system, ensuring compliance with FDA labeling regulations and current product formulations Create new product labels, including Nutrition Facts Panels, ingredient statements, and allergen declarations, in collaboration with the R D and Sales teams. Review and verify current process sheets for all active products to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with current manufacturing processes Conduct daily audits of product labels and process sheets to identify discrepancies and ensure documentation reflects the most current approved formulas Quality Control Maintain the Approved Vendor System, ensuring all required supplier documentation and certifications remain current and compliant Perform routine metal detector CCP verification checks and provide training to production personnel on proper metal detector procedures Conduct sensory evaluations, shelf-life studies, and other quality testing to verify product performance and consistency Support daily GMP inspections on the production floor to ensure compliance with FDA regulations, SQF requirements, and company standards Assist in R D product development, including formulating new recipes, testing ingredients Verify incoming raw material shipments by confirming quantities, lot numbers, product condition, and supporting documentation Support monthly inventory counts and annual physical inventory, ensuring inventory accuracy through reconciliation of count variances and documentation
