The client is seeking an experienced Flavorist / Food Scientist to develop and formulate flavors for food, e-liquid, and oral product applications. The successful candidate must be able to develop flavor profiles from individual raw materials rather than relying solely on compounded flavor bases, flavored oils, or natural extracts. The position is responsible for using creativity and technical expertise to develop formulations that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do:
The role extends from ingredient identification and formula development through testing, commercialization, and reformulation from the laboratory to production. The Flavorist / Food Scientist will also serve as a technical resource for product nutrition and processing-related matters and provide recommendations and guidance to Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, and other areas of the organization. Develop new flavor formulations from concept through commercialization. Independently create flavors from individual aroma chemicals. Develop flavor profiles from individual raw materials rather than relying solely on compounded flavor bases. Develop innovative formulations that meet customer and regulatory requirements. Work directly with customers during flavor tasting and evaluation sessions. Adjust flavor formulations based on customer feedback. Prepare revised samples for customers when flavor adjustments are required. Make multiple formulation adjustments throughout the day when necessary to meet customer preferences. Lead the Mixing Team in the manufacturing of new formulations. Identify and evaluate alternative materials and potential cost-saving options. Conduct shelf-life studies on products. Reformulate existing products for product improvements or cost-saving opportunities. Serve as a technical resource for various departments. Provide process direction and recommendations for manufacturing new and existing formulas. Lead projects using sound project-management practices. Oversee multiple concurrent projects. Contribute ideas for new products and concepts that use new ingredients or processing methods within the natural-product category. Serve as a primary technical contact for internal business partners, co-manufacturers, and suppliers on development, testing, and commercialization projects. Support senior food scientists or managers as assigned. Travel to customer locations approximately 10% of the time. Perform other job responsibilities as assigned. Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's Degree in Science or Food Science or Nutrition or Chemistry. 2+ years of safety experience in hands-on creating flavors from individual aroma chemicals. 2+ years of experience in developing products within food or beverage companies. 2+ years of experience in building flavor profiles from individual raw materials rather than relying solely on compounded flavor bases.

Extensive knowledge of aroma chemicals. Ability to independently create flavors based on a requested flavor profile. Good knowledge of food science, health and nutrition, food-manufacturing processes, quality-assurance principles, the ingredient-supply market, and market-research practices. Ability to work in laboratory and manufacturing-scale environments. Ability to build and leverage relationships with ingredient suppliers to advance product-development projects. Ability to collect, document, analyze, and interpret data. Good organizational and presentation skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Good analytical skills. Ability to work effectively with professional and nonprofessional personnel. Demonstrated accountability, initiative, effective communication, collaboration, and knowledge sharing. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
