Role:
We are looking for an ambitious Food Engineer to lead the sanitary design, food safety, and regulatory compliance of our innovative food processing hardware appliance. You will be the primary technical authority for ensuring our machinery meets all strict U.S. regulatory standards (FDA and NSF) from concept to prototyping.
What We Are Looking For:
Location:
Must currently reside in Houston, Texas, USA. (Applications from outside the Houston area will not be considered.)
Work Authorization:
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder. (We do not provide visa sponsorship, including H-1B or any other work authorization, and will not consider candidates requiring sponsorship.)
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in the sanitary compliance of food-grade machinery or commercial kitchen equipment. (Candidates without proven professional experience in FDA/NSF regulated food-processing hardware will not be considered.)
Education:
Minimum Bachelors Degree in
Food Engineering Technical Skills:
Deep expertise in U.S. food safety standards, FDA food-contact regulations, NSF sanitation certifications, and sanitary material selection (e.g., 316 stainless steel, food-safe polymers).
Hands-on:
Proven experience with cleanability validation, sanitation protocols, and testing food machinery and result of product in a lab or workshop environment.
Mindset:
A "get-it-done" attitude—you want to see your sanitary designs come to life.
Autonomy:
Ability to work autonomously and own your food-safety and regulatory design decisions from concept to final product.
Key Responsibilities:
Sanitary Design Architecture:
Lead the design process to ensure all food-contact surfaces, seals, and mechanisms meet strict FDA and NSF standards.
Regulatory Compliance:
Serve as the primary technical authority for U.S. food equipment safety, cleanability, and contamination prevention.
Technical Authority:
Guide the engineering team on food-grade material selection and hygienic manufacturing requirements tailored for the U.S. market.
Prototype Validation:
Work closely with the core team to oversee sanitary testing, validation, and the transition from design to physical prototype.
Why This Job IS For You:
If you have the soul of an inventor and the drive to bring a completely new, disruptive food hardware concept to life. If you are a self-starter who thrives when given a blank canvas and the power to make your own regulatory and design decisions. If you are obsessed with creation and want your work to be the foundation of a revolutionary product, not just a minor update to an old one. If you possess a visionary mindset and understand that the most significant engineering breakthroughs come from daring to think differently.
Why This Job Is NOT For You:
If you lack the "inventor's madness" and aren't excited about creating something that has never existed before. If you cannot handle ambiguity and need a detailed manual for every single step of the process. If you are satisfied with existing solutions and aren't constantly looking to break barriers and innovate. If you view engineering as just a way to collect a paycheck rather than a craft to change the world. If you are not comfortable with collaborative team dynamics or if you struggle to provide sustainable, long-term technical solutions to your partners' needs. If you lack the required leadership character to drive a project, take full ownership of the technical direction, and effectively lead other engineers.
What We Offer:
Technical Ownership:
You will be the lead sanitary design and compliance authority for a new, high-potential food hardware product.
