Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM About the Role We are seeking an experienced Geologist to join our team in the Alamo/Walnut Creek, California area. This position is focused on preparing and reviewing geology and soil reports for residential and light-commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with geological and soil report preparation, particularly for projects involving residential properties, light commercial developments, and hazard-zone areas. Key Responsibilities Prepare, write, and review geology reports and soil reports for residential and light-commercial projects. Evaluate geological and soil conditions and prepare technical documentation based on project requirements. Support projects involving hazard-zone areas and other geologically sensitive locations. Prepare clear, accurate, and technically sound reports for clients and project stakeholders. Review geological and soil information and translate findings into professional reports and recommendations. Work on a variety of projects, ranging from residential properties to larger buildings, hotels, and light-commercial developments. Ensure reports meet applicable project and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with clients, engineers, contractors, and other professionals as needed.
Required / Preferred
Qualifications Professional experience working as a Geologist. Hands-on experience writing and preparing geology and soil reports. Experience with residential and/or light-commercial projects. Knowledge of soil conditions, geological hazards, and geological assessments. Strong technical writing and report-preparation skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects. Strongly Preferred California Certified/Registered Geologist credentials. Ability to stamp/sign geological and soil reports. Experience with California residential and light-commercial geology/soil projects. Experience working on projects in hazard-zone areas. Candidates with strong geology and soil-report writing experience who are not currently certified may also be considered. Preferred Background We are particularly interested in candidates whose background is focused on geology, soil investigations, and preparation of geology/soil reports. Experience that is primarily focused on environmental contamination, environmental testing, or river/environmental projects is not the primary focus of this position unless combined with strong relevant soil and geology report-writing experience. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a California-based Geologist with strong experience preparing and writing soil and geology reports, preferably a Certified/Registered Geologist who can stamp/sign reports and has experience with California residential and light-commercial projects.
Pay:
$90,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
