About NexTerra NexTerra Subterranean, Inc. is a growing geotechnical drilling, excavation, and site preparation company operating across Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and West Virginia. We work on complex subsurface investigation projects for government agencies, municipal authorities, and private clients — including PennDOT, SEPTA, Amtrak, and major engineering firms. We are expanding our technical leadership team and looking for a senior professional to grow with us. Position Overview The Director of Geotechnical Services is a senior management role responsible for overseeing the technical operations of NexTerra's subsurface investigation and drilling programs. This is not a field position — it is an office-based leadership role that manages project execution, client relationships, proposal development, and internal reporting. The Director reports directly to the company owner and works alongside a dedicated Administrative Assistant, Field Supervisor, and Controller. Key Responsibilities Lead technical oversight of geotechnical drilling, excavation, and site preparation projects across multiple states Manage client relationships and serve as the primary technical point of contact for engineering firms, government agencies, and prime contractors Develop and review proposals, bids, and scopes of work Oversee Penn

prequalification submissions, SOI responses, and qualification packets Direct and support the Field Supervisor in day-to-day crew scheduling and field execution Review and interpret boring logs, subsurface investigation data, and field reports — with the long-term goal of developing in-house geotechnical reporting capability Coordinate with the Controller on project budgets, cost tracking, and billing milestones Maintain and grow NexTerra's technical reputation with existing and prospective clients Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, or Geotechnical Engineering Pennsylvania Professional Geologist (P.G.) license — required or actively in process Experience developing proposals and bids for geotechnical or subsurface investigation work Familiarity with PennDOT prequalification, ECMS, and government contracting in Pennsylvania Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously Preferred Qualifications Background as a geotechnical drilling inspector or field geologist with hands-on drilling experience Familiarity with ECMS prequalification categories and PennDOT Pub 222 standards Experience producing or reviewing geotechnical boring logs and subsurface investigation reports Working knowledge of drilling and excavation operations in Pennsylvania and the Northeast Operating States Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia What We Offer Direct access to company ownership and meaningful influence over NexTerra's technical direction Dedicated Administrative Assistant and Field Supervisor support Opportunity to build an in-house geotechnical reporting practice from the ground up A company investing in systems, technology, and long-term growthPay:
