Job Description
As a Sr. Project Geologist, Greenfields exploration you will lead and shape the discovery of new mineral resources that drive our company's future. In this position, you will play a crucial part in steering exploration efforts on a district to regional scale, contributing significantly to the identification and delineation of new gold resources. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating closely with the Exploration Manager, Senior Geologist, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful planning, execution, and reporting of exploration programs. Key Responsibilities Be a leading contributor to the Greenfields exploration team, in the delineation of new resources for the company
Assist the Exploration Manager in the planning and scheduling of staff and activities for the Greenfields group. Ensure the timely and on-budget completion of work programs by leading, supervising and guiding exploration field teams.
Build and further develop the team's capacities by training and mentoring junior exploration staff in industry best practices and exploration methodologies.
Carry out District to Regional scale exploration activities including geological mapping, geochemical sampling programs, and drill testing of targets with little to minimal supervision.
Provide interpretations derived from the datasets collected and provide recommendations aligned with company objectives and strategies.
Work closely with peers and assist the Senior Geologist and Exploration Manager in the planning and scheduling of field and other activities in country.
Prepare and effectively present timely, accurate, and detailed internal reports, maps, plans, and sections and assist in the preparation of Global reports and presentations.
Supervise and mentor contractors in field to implement work plans safely, sustainably, and in accordance with the Company and regulatory requirements and standards.
Lead project evaluations, critically assess data for accuracy and quality, and make objective assessments on exploration potential. Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience BSc or higher (MSc preferred) in a Geoscience-related degree.
A minimum of 7-10 years' experience in gold exploration, with significant exposure to multiple ore deposit types and jurisdictions.
Valid driver's license and proficiency in operating 4WD vehicles.
First aid certification required, but can be undertaken after employment.
Nevada based geological experience is preferred.
Experience as a supervisor.
Eligibility to work in the USA.
Able to pass both medical and drug test screening as required by AGA policies. Physical/Mental Demands Employees must be able to perform duties efficiently and without hazard to themselves or others, to include. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
Stand, talk, hear and use hands and fingers to operate office equipment.
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Specific vision requirements include close vision/reading due to computer work.
Able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
Communicating with others to exchange information.
Comprehend, organize and analyze information.
React to an emergency effectively and provide first-aid if required. If/When in the
