Responsibilities:
Conduct independent and collaborative research in applied geophysics. Process, integrate, and interpret seismic, well-log, and related geoscience data. Apply quantitative, computational, and statistical methods to subsurface characterization. Prepare manuscripts, technical reports, and conference presentations. Contribute to research proposals and assist with mentoring students.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in geophysics, geology, petroleum geoscience, marine geoscience, petroleum engineering, or a closely related field by the employment start date. Experience with seismic or well-log data interpretation. Strong quantitative and computational skills. Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research. Evidence of research productivity through peer-reviewed publications. Strong written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience integrating multiple geoscience datasets. Experience with offshore or sedimentary-basin geophysics. Research experience in one or more of the following areas: gas hydrates, fluid migration, marine geophysics, offshore geologic processes, or related subsurface systems. Familiarity with subsurface modeling, seismic interpretation, or reservoir characterization. Experience with scientific programming or geoscience software. Familiarity with statistical or machine-learning methods.
