This position will assist permitting program staff with discharge permitting outreach duties, including application and Notice of Intent to Discharge Request intake and fulfilling Bureau public notice requirements. This position will also represent the Ground Water Quality Bureau (GWQB) regarding New Mexico Water Data Act efforts and enhance staff capabilities and products for our website and other outlets. This position will also co-lead water fairs to provide well water quality testing and interpretation, as well as other educational and outreach activities around the state. This position will also manage a minimal groundwater discharge permit caseload. How does it get done? Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Serve as one of three GWQB discharge e-Permitting permittee point-of-contacts Develop, implement, and maintain website content to provide the technical resources needed for NMED to protect human health and the environment Fulfill discharge permitting outreach duties including application intake reviews for completeness, fulfilling Bureau public notice requirements, distributing permitting documentation to Bureau/Section staff, and responding to applicant questions and public requests Manage specific projects, including water fairs, discharge permittee/operator training, which may include development of agreements and scopes of works, oversight/management of outside contracts/consultants with specific intended outcomes Manage a minimal groundwater discharge permit caseload; and 6) Manage Notice of Intent to Discharge Requests (NOIs) submitted to GWQB Who are the customers?
