Job Description

Medical Laboratory Scientist A healthcare organization in Southeast Alaska is looking for a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) for a permanent, full-time position. Position Highlights Permanent, full-time hospital laboratory opportunity Perform all levels of laboratory testing, including CLIA-defined high-complexity testing Work across areas including microbiology, transfusion medicine, molecular biology, and infectious disease testing Evaluate and interpret test results, troubleshoot inconsistencies, and ensure accuracy before results are released Maintain laboratory equipment, quality control, policies, procedures, and regulatory readiness Assist with training laboratory staff and evaluating competency Shift work plus night and weekend call required to provide 24-hour laboratory coverage Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, retirement, PTO, paid parental leave, life insurance, and disability coverage What We re Looking For Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field ; qualifying experience, education, or training may substitute on a year-for-year basis for college education Medical Technologist (ASCP), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (AMT), or equivalent national certification At least 1 year of progressive clinical experience or 1 year of hospital internship following the degree Knowledge of high-complexity laboratory testing, quality control, LIS, and laboratory equipment Knowledge of CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission, and other regulatory requirements Ability to work independently, troubleshoot laboratory results, and train staff Clinical competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years Interested in Learning More?
