Research Associate, In Vivo Pharmacology Position Overview:
The In Vivo Pharmacology Senior Research Associate is a key member of the Moonwalk R D team, helping to drive the company's early target validation and translational science in metabolic conditions. In this role, you will help design and execute Moonwalk's In Vivo pharmacology studies and contribute to animal model development, working closely with the platform technology and biology teams. You will also work closely with the leadership team to align research programs with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute and coordinate in vivo PK/PD, proof-of-concept, and target validation studies Design and implement experiments, troubleshoot technical issues, and conduct scientific research to identify and validate targets and determine their mechanism of action Maintain critical laboratory capabilities for design and implementation of studies Collaboration within the R D and vivarium teams to achieve project objectives Contribute to the documentation and presentation of protocols and data
Required Qualifications:
BS or MS in cell biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, bioengineering or related area with 3+ years of relevant experience
Technical Skills:
Expertise in in vivo pharmacology techniques, including dosing (IV, SC, IP, PO), blood and tissue collection, and necropsy Proficient in animal handling and husbandry with rodent models Experience with IACUC and vivarium operations Experience with molecular biology assays, including qPCR, ELISAs, western blots, and immunofluorescence techniques Experience with in vivo fluorescence/bioluminescence imaging is a plus Experience with cell and gene therapy and/or novel therapeutic modalities is a plus
Data Analysis & Documentation:
Strong ability to collect, analyze, and interpret in vivo study data Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., GraphPad Prism, Excel, etc.) Experience with electronic lab notebooks (ELNs) and laboratory information management systems (LIMS) Ability to prepare technical reports and presentations
Executive Functioning Skills:
Strong organizational and time management skills and close attention to detail Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for your work Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly articulate and document data, ideas, problems, and solutions Ability to excel in a team-first, supportive work environment Adaptable and eager to contribute in a dynamic, early stage environment with quick pacing for schedules and deliverables Salary ranges from $80,000 to $110,000 depending on level.
