Summary The Department of Radiation Oncology is recruiting a Postdoc or Research Scientist I to independently manage and execute preclinical research activities for a novel therapeutic compound with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include planning and conducting in vitro and in vivo studies, including mouse models, coordinating drug dosing, radiation treatments, sample collection, and processing, monitoring experimental outcomes, maintaining accurate study documentation, analyzing and interpreting data, troubleshooting experimental procedures and communicating results and progress to the research team. The position will also support the development and optimization of preclinical study protocols and contribute to the transition of the compound toward clinical development.

The Ideal Candidate:

Describe the key skills you require and prefer in your candidate. Experience with mammalian cell culture. Experience working with mouse models or willingness to learn and receive appropriate training in animal handling and in vivo experimental procedures. Experience with basic molecular and cellular biology techniques. Ability to independently plan, execute, and troubleshoot experiments with minimal supervision. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including accurate documentation of experimental procedures and results. Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate experimental data effectively. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary research team. Ability to manage multiple experiments and priorities simultaneously and meet project timelines

Responsibilities:

Conduct and optimize wet lab experiments to advance translational cancer research. Analyze and interpret data, generating findings for publications, presentations, and future studies. Apply advanced molecular and cellular biology techniques to address key scientific questions. Collaborate with investigators and multidisciplinary teams across basic, translational, and clinical research programs. Maintain rigorous laboratory practices, research documentation, and compliance with safety standards

Credentials and Qualifications:

MD or PhD in Molecular Biology or relevant field. Should have at least one first-author publication. To qualify for the Research Scientist I position, candidates must have at least 2 years of postdoctoral or post-PhD experience.
