Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support our client's healthcare facility in Schaumburg IL. This is a 13 weeks contract role (with high possibility of extension or conversion) offering a great opportunity for experience to excel in a dynamic environment.

Pay Range:

Duties:

Follow established laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, testing, reporting, and record maintenance Analyze patient specimens using approved testing procedures and department SOPs Review and release laboratory test results accurately Perform and document quality control activities Perform instrument and procedural calibrations and document required maintenance Identify issues that may affect test performance or result reporting and take appropriate corrective action Notify the senior technologist or supervisor of problems when necessary Document corrective actions when testing systems deviate from established performance specifications Follow procedures for reporting STAT and critical results to clients Maintain complete and accurate records of testing performed on-site Ensure reagents and test kits are properly dated, including receipt, expiration, and opening dates when applicable

Requirements:

Education:

One of the following educational backgrounds is required/preferred based on applicable laboratory qualification standards Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology preferred Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biology Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology Previously qualified as a Technologist under applicable CLIA requirements License(s) / Certification(s): National certification or eligibility for certification as an

MT/MLS/MLT

through a recognized organization such as ASCP or AMT is expected Illinois state licensure/credentials are required as applicable Years of experience: 1 year of clinical laboratory experience with high-complexity testing preferred
