Section Chief of Pharmacology Niazee College of Osteopathic Medicine (NCOM) is a mission-driven, nonprofitosteopathic medical school advancing a community-centered, whole-person approach to healthcare education. The Section Chief ofPharmacology provides academic, administrative, and educational leadership for pharmacology instruction across all four (4) years of theNCOM curriculum. The Section Chief ensures the pharmacology curriculum is vertically integrated, clinically relevant, student-centered, andaligned with NCOM's mission and COCA accreditation standards. This role supports NCOM's commitment to educating osteopathicphysicians with a strong foundation in pharmacologic principles, therapeutics, and medication safety essential to clinical decision-makingand patient care. Knowledge, Skill and Experience Terminal Degree:

PhD, PharmD, DO, MD, or equivalent in Pharmacology,Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related discipline Minimum of three (3) years of experience in academic medicine or higher education(osteopathic preferred) Demonstrated experience teaching pharmacology or therapeutics in a medical or health sciencesprogram Knowledge of curriculum design, assessment, accreditation, and educational research Demonstrated excellence inmodern instructional methods (TBL, PBL, flipped classroom) Competence in research and scholarly activity Prior leadershipexperience preferred May perform other duties and responsibilities that supervisory or administrative leadership may deemnecessary.

Analytical skills Excellent written, verbal, and nonverbalcommunication skills Superior decision-making ability Strong organizational skills Flexibility andadaptability Ability to maintain strong interpersonal relationships Ability to work in a dynamic, evolving academicenvironment Ability to collaborate and lead within interdisciplinary teams Your responsibilities as the Section Chief of Pharmacology will include: Actively promote participation of pharmacology faculty in theteaching of osteopathic medical students at all levels Provide leadership and oversight for pharmacology and related foundationalscience instruction as defined by the curriculum Ensure pharmacology courses are well organized, educationally rigorous, and alignedwith defined learning objectives and outcomes Coordinate with the Chair of Foundational Sciences to ensure integration ofpharmacology with biochemistry/physiology, pathology, microbiology/immunology, and clinical sciences Participate in the development,delivery, and continuous improvement of the integrated curriculum Ensure pharmacology content reflects current scientific knowledge,evidence-based therapeutics, and patient safety principles Promote integration of prescribing principles, medication mechanisms ofaction, adverse effects, contraindications, and drug interactions into the curriculum Participate in evaluation and assessmentprocesses and assign final grades Monitor student performance and provide academic support or intervention whennecessary Recruit, mentor, and evaluate pharmacology faculty Promote faculty development and scholarly activity within thepharmacology discipline Ensure compliance with COCA accreditation standards and institutional policies Serve oninstitutional committees as assigned Establish and maintain professional relationships with academic peers and relevant professionalorganizations About Us At the Niazee College of Osteopathic Medicine (NCOM) , we're building atransformational, community-centered medical school grounded in osteopathic principles and whole-person care.
