This position coordinates research-related biospecimen activities, maintains study documentation, supports data collection, and helps ensure that protocol-required visits and procedures occur on schedule. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a busy oncology setting, handling confidential information, managing multiple deadlines, and communicating with physicians, nurses, research staff, laboratories, and other study partners. Primary Responsibilities Review clinic schedules and help coordinate protocol-required visits, procedures, and research specimen collections. Assemble laboratory kits and prepare supplies needed for biospecimen collection. Package and ship specimens according to study requirements and applicable International Air Transport Association requirements. Assist with the intake and scheduling of patients who may be eligible for research prescreening. Abstract information from medical records and complete paper and electronic research forms. Respond to data clarification requests and maintain accurate source documentation. Identify and promptly communicate protocol, documentation, or specimen-related concerns. Organize and maintain electronic study records for sponsor review and archival. Participate in site initiation visits and other study-related meetings. Support physicians, nurses, and clinical research staff with additional TRIO-US research activities as assigned. Required Qualifications Lives in Wichita or surrounding area Associate degree; or high school diploma/GED with at least two years of relevant work experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Careful attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve problems. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet multiple deadlines. Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential patient and research information. Ability to remain composed and effective in a busy clinical environment. Ability to establish productive working relationships with personnel from multiple organizations. Preferred Qualifications Experience in clinical research, oncology, a medical office, laboratory operations, or biospecimen management. Experience reviewing electronic medical records or entering research data. IATA specimen-shipping certification or willingness to complete employer-provided training. Schedule This is a full-time, on-site position. The schedule may consist of five eight-hour shifts or four ten-hour shifts, as determined by TRIO-US and the Cancer Center of Kansas. Occasional schedule flexibility may be required to meet patient, clinic, and study needs. Routine travel is not required. Compensation The anticipated pay range is $22.00-$26.00 per hour, based on relevant education, experience, and clinical research or specimen-handling skills. TRIO-US also offers a $1,500 sign-on bonus, paid as $750 after 30 days and $750 after six months, provided the employee remains actively employed and in good standing on each payment date. Payments are subject to applicable taxes and program terms.
