Position Overview We are seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join the Laboratory team in Louisville, KY. The MLS will perform clinical laboratory testing across waived, moderate, and high-complexity testing environments while ensuring accurate, timely, and reliable patient results. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, critical-thinking skills, and the ability to troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and testing issues. Key Responsibilities Perform laboratory testing in accordance with

CLIA '88

guidelines and established laboratory procedures. Perform testing in one or more clinical laboratory disciplines, including: Hematology Coagulation Urinalysis Chemistry Blood Bank Microbiology Handle and process patient specimens according to established procedures. Analyze specimens, report patient results, and maintain accurate laboratory records. Perform and document quality control, quality assurance, instrument calibration, and maintenance activities. Identify testing or instrument problems that may affect the accuracy of patient results and take appropriate corrective action or notify the laboratory coordinator. Investigate and troubleshoot laboratory testing issues. Communicate critical laboratory values and other pertinent information promptly to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Maintain an appropriate pace of work to support timely reporting of accurate patient results. Communicate pending work and relevant information during shift handoff. Assist with training new laboratory associates and students. Provide advanced technical training and laboratory theory when applicable. Monitor laboratory supplies and notify appropriate personnel when supplies are low. Follow all laboratory safety, infection-control, PPE, and regulatory requirements. Complete required competency validations, safety training, and continuing education. Assume charge responsibilities when assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in: Medical Technology Clinical Laboratory Science Biological Science Chemistry/Physical Science Or another qualifying laboratory science discipline Degree must be from an accredited institution and meet applicable CLIA requirements under 42 CFR §493.1423 and §493.1489 . Strong understanding of laboratory testing procedures and clinical laboratory principles. Ability to troubleshoot testing and instrumentation issues. Strong attention to accuracy and precision. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with laboratory staff, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. Required Certification One of the following is required: MLS(ASCP)

• Medical Laboratory Scientist certification through AMTPreferred Experience No prior experience is specifically required by the facility.

Candidates should, however, be comfortable performing laboratory testing and following established quality, safety, and regulatory procedures. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and technically proficient MLS who can perform accurate laboratory testing, recognize testing discrepancies, troubleshoot problems, maintain quality standards, and communicate critical results effectively. Experience across multiple laboratory disciplines such as Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Microbiology, Coagulation, or Urinalysis is valuable.

$48.00
