Summary Spectrix Analytical Services, LLC is seeking a qualified Bioanalytical Bench Scientist to join a bioanalytical mass spectrometry group within the Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics, and Metabolism (PDM) department at our client's site in Andover, MA. This associate scientist level lab-based role supports clinical biomarker initiatives across therapeutic areas in a fast-paced, well-outfitted laboratory. The ideal candidate will bring relevant bioanalytical experience, strong attention to detail, and an interest in learning large molecule mass spectrometry techniques related to clinical outcomes. We are looking for a scientist who is passionate about learning and eager to apply new skills to meet evolving project needs. Responsibilities Prepare biological samples and associated calibration curves in a highly reproducible and accurate manner for mass spectrometry analysis Perform precise manual and automated liquid pipetting, including advanced liquid handling workflows Understand, follow, perform, and document complex experiments and results in an electronic lab notebook in a timely and complete manner Design experiments in collaboration with colleagues to satisfy project deliverables Assist with general lab operations, including instrument set-up, maintenance, cleaning, calibration, and troubleshooting Support sample and compound logistics, supply ordering, and general bench work activities Generate scientific materials using Microsoft Office applications, communicate workflows and findings clearly to various audiences, including external CRO vendors, and prepare procedures or training materials as needed Work collaboratively to meet project timelines and quality standards Job Expectations On-site work required Monday through Friday during core business hours (9:00 AM - 3:00 PM) Communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing. Successfully execute complex bioanalytical procedures, including sample preparation, instrument operation and troubleshooting. Qualifications BS or MS (1+ years) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, or a related field. PhD candidates will not be considered for this associate level position. Previous experience in successfully executing complex bioanalytical procedures and LC-MS assays is desired Preferred experience with LC-MS biological sample preparation involving multi-step isolation, purification, and concentration of analytes Familiarity with LC-MS instrumentation (Thermo/SciEx) and related software (e.g., Analyst, Xcalibur, Skyline) Experience operating standard laboratory equipment, including manual and automated pipetting systems Working understanding of protein biochemistry and mass spectrometry Ability to multitask as both an independent contributor and a collaborative team member Strong organizational skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
