Job Description
Job Requirements Job Summary Under limited supervision, performs complex analyses on a variety of sample types, utilizing independent judgment to generate acceptable test results. Performs as lead by managing workflow, mentoring others and serving as clinical resource. Primary Responsibilities The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job responsibilities performed. Independently performs all responsibilities of MLS I and MLS II. Actively participates in quality improvement initiatives as a member of a multi-disciplinary patient care services team. Develops/leads efforts to improve regulatory compliance within and beyond the department. Assists in the determination and/or development of new services, equipment, instrumentation, tests, assays and procedures. Participates in orienting new employees at the department level. Trains employees and serves as a mentor, helping others achieve/maintain required competencies. Responsible for regulatory & accreditation agency preparation. Performs all other duties assigned. Work Experience Education & Experience - Required Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, biology or related sciences and minimum of two years' experience in a clinical laboratory required or; an Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, or completion of Military Laboratory Technology with a minimum of four years of experience. Two (2) years of experience in clinical laboratory required with a Bachelor's degree, or four years of experience in a clinical laboratory with an Associate's degree or completion of Military Laboratory Technician program required.
