Job Title:
Travel Medical Lab Scientist Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in clinical laboratory procedures, laboratory management, and diagnostic testing. Responsibilities of Medical Lab Scientist:
Shift:
12- hours Nights Shift details: 6.00 PM to 6.30 AM 36 hours/week. (3
  • 12) 13-week contract Conduct a wide range of laboratory tests including hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, immunoassays, flow cytometry, PCR, ELISA, RNA extraction, DNA isolation, and other diagnostic assays with precision and adherence to protocols.
Manage specimen collection and processing procedures such as venipuncture, blood sampling, and specimen handling to ensure sample integrity. Operate and maintain sophisticated medical laboratory equipment including blood banking instruments, PCR machines, flow cytometers, and other diagnostic devices while adhering to manufacturer guidelines. Implement laboratory quality control protocols to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with CLIA regulations and hospital standards. Analyze data generated from laboratory tests using laboratory information management systems (LIS) and perform data analysis to support clinical decision-making. Maintain detailed documentation of test results, quality control activities, and equipment maintenance within laboratory information systems (LIS). Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on clinical trials or research projects by providing precise test results and interpreting diagnostic data within the context of physiology knowledge. Ensure aseptic techniques during specimen handling to prevent contamination and uphold safety standards in accordance with hospital policies. Participate in ongoing training on new laboratory procedures, medical terminology updates, and advancements in diagnostic testing methods. Experience Proven experience working in a clinical or research laboratory environment with a strong background in medical laboratory work including hematology, microbiology testing, clinical chemistry testing, and immunoassays. Demonstrated proficiency in laboratory management practices such as inventory control, specimen processing protocols, and implementing quality assurance measures aligned with CLIA regulations. Hands-on experience operating medical laboratory equipment such as blood analyzers, PCR machines, flow cytometers, and blood banking instruments. Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIS) or Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) for data entry and report generation. Knowledge of phlebotomy techniques including venipuncture and blood sampling procedures within hospital or clinical settings. Strong understanding of medical terminology related to anatomy, physiology, hematology, microbiology testing methods, and diagnostic test interpretation. Experience working within hospital environments or healthcare facilities with an emphasis on patient sample collection and processing is highly desirable.
