Position Summary:
The Flex MSL provides on-demand and proactive field medical support, tailored to organizational needs- whether backfilling a temporary vacancy or expanding engagement, and coverage for an expanded group of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
Responsibilities:
Scientific Exchange (Non-Promotional): Conduct fair-balanced, on-label scientific discussions; respond to unsolicited requests; escalate complex inquiries to Medical Information as needed. Deliver medical presentations to diverse audiences effectively, including physicians, pharmacists and nurses with the ability to summarize and communicate complex information in an effective manner.Coverage & Continuity:
Provide short-term KOL/institution/account coverage based on organizational needs; maintaining relationship in territory with updated territory plan to transition back to MSL.Education & Support:
Deliver compliant medical education (1:1 or small group) for priority topics (e.g., disease state, MOA, safety/REMS), aligned to medical strategy. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of relevant scientific literature, current treatment landscapes, and emerging data in Rare Kidney Disease.Congress Support:
Provide scientific presence and logistical coordination at regional and national congresses, ensuring impactful representation of the organization's medical and clinical interests.Insight Generation:
Document HCP insights, medical trends, and unmet needs; route high-value insights to Medical Strategy owners.Documentation & Compliance:
Record interactions in CRM (e.g., Veeva) within 48 hours; follow all Medical and Compliance guardrails. Adhere to corporate compliance in all activities, including those related to clinical trials, scientific interactions with internal and external groups, and responses to unsolicited requests for medical/scientific information.Project Support:
Contribute to the planning, coordination, and implementation of medical projects that advance organizational goals and scientific engagement.Education/Experience Requirements:
Advanced degree strongly preferred (i.e. Pharm D, MD/DO, PhD, PA or NP) in a relevant scientific discipline. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered. 2+ years of MSL experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry; relevant clinical or academic experience may be considered. Experience in nephrology or rare disease (particularly IgAN or FSGS) is strongly preferred. Demonstrated success in supporting new product launches is a plus. Experience working with KOLs, medical congresses, and cross-functional matrix teams.Additional Skills/Experience/Requirements:

Strategic thinker with strong collaboration, project management, able to manage multiple priorities, demonstrates solid organizational skills and is a proactive, innovative problem solver. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with evolving priorities. Knowledge of FDA guidelines and regulations, PhRMA code, and other compliance and industry standards. Proficiency with CRM (e.g., Veeva), standard field reporting, and virtual engagement tools. Demonstrates professional conduct, collaboration, and integrity while fostering a positive and solutions-oriented team environment that enhances morale and collective success. The position is field-based and the candidate must live in their territory. Ability to travel up to 60-80%, travel to regional/national meetings as assigned, and some evening and weekend work may be required.Total Rewards Offerings:

Our competitive compensation package includes a combination of both cash compensation (base pay and short-term incentive) and long-term incentive compensation (company stock), designed to recognize, retain, and reward employees.Target Base Pay Range:
$162,000.00- $211,000.00
