Position Highlights Position Summary:
Assumes responsibility for patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement and equipment maintenance. Accurately and promptly performs a variety of chemical, microscopic and bacteriologic tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Collaborates with the healthcare team to provide information necessary to provide high quality patient care, maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Responds to physicians and hospital staff in a professional manner, remembering that patient care is our first concern.
Work Schedule:
Rotating/Flexible shifts (weekend/holiday/call involvement, 12 hour shifts) to meet Hospital demand.
Education/Experience:
Associate degree in clinical laboratory science with successful completion of advanced certification exam through alternative route. Bachelor's degree with concentration of studies in clinical laboratory science preferred. Minimum of 2 years generalist clinical laboratory experience preferred. New graduates may be considered at the discretion of the Team Leader, Laboratory.
Licensure/Certification:
Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist from the ASCP or AMT required within 12 months of hire.
