Opportunity:

• The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) John Sealy School of Medicine in Galveston is seeking a full-time Pediatric Endocrinology Physician-Scientist at the rank of Associate or Full Professor.

This is a unique opportunity to join a nationally recognized academic health system and a collaborative team of clinicians and researchers. This position offers the opportunity to engage in clinical care, contribute to the education of pediatric residents and medical students, and develop a productive funded research program.

• JOB DESCRIPTION

• This full-time academic role combines clinical care, teaching and research within a collaborative health system.

The successful candidate will:

+ Join a multidisciplinary team to support the institutional clinical, educational and research missions. + Provide comprehensive pediatric endocrinology care across inpatient and outpatient settings. + Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows. + Lead the development of a clinical and/or basic research program within the Division of Endocrinology.

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• + M.

D. or D.O. degree from an LCME or COCA accredited medical school. + Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency. + Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship. + Board Certification in Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology. + Ability to obtain an unrestricted State of Texas Physician License. + Current

U.S. DEA

Practitioner registration. + U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S. + Demonstrated commitment to patient care and medical education. + Demonstrated clinical and/or basic science research productivity.

• PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• + Three or more years of post-fellowship clinical experience in Pediatric Endocrinology. + Prior academic experience in resident and medical student education. + Current transferable funded research.
