JOB DESCRIPTION
The Department of Neuroscience and the Center of Brain Immunology and Glia at the University of Virginia is seeking an experienced and motivated Research Scientist or Research Associate to work in the Kuan Lab to investigate (1) vascular factors in neurodegeneration and/or (2) experimental thrombolytic and collateral circulation treatments, mainly using murine models. Position Summary Applicants for this position must have a PhD degree in neuroscience, cell biology, immunology, pharmacology, physiology, or other basic biomedical research fields, and >10 years of working experience as a Postdoctoral Fellow or higher. The job responsibilities include designing and executing experiments independently with minimal instructions from the Lab Head. Responsibilities Full-time research or scholarship at the University. Preparatory for a full-time academic or research career Teaching junior postdoctoral fellows and supervising research assistants. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. Salary Range The anticipated salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
