HIRING SALARY

$25.40 This position requires approximately 30 hours per week. The assigned workload and hours may be adjusted as needed to meet agency requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities What You'll Do:

Capture compelling video, audio, and photography at ceremonies, training exercises, news conferences, and more.

Craft Engaging Content:

Collaborate with our team to create dynamic content for Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram - bringing stories to life online!

Tell Real Stories:

Conduct interviews with officers and community members, uncovering the human side of law enforcement.

Impact Transparency:

Assist in managing Freedom of Information Act requests, contributing to open communication within our agency. Minimum Qualifications Must be a U.S. Citizen Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older. Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Must be proficient in photography, videography, photo/video editing, and/or multimedia journalism, along with video/audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, iMovie), social media management tools, and a basic understanding of journalistic principles. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft 365. Honorably discharged from the military (if applicable). Have no pending cases or criminal felony convictions (misdemeanors may require expungement). No THC or Marijuana use within 365 days; some drugs are automatic disqualifiers. No student loans in default status. The Nelson-Denny Reading Test, a two-phase background investigation, a credit check, a psychological examination/evaluation, a polygraph examination, an oral interview, and upon an offer of employment, a pre-employment physical examination will be required. Must be able to assist disaster response teams in the event of a natural disaster as necessary. Must possess a valid SC Driver's license or ability to obtain one prior to hire and meet the requirements of the County's motor vehicle policy.
