JOB SUMMARY
The R D Laboratory Assistant is responsible for ensuring that raw material, in process and finished goods meet Beneficial Blends specifications. Laboratory duties include performing a variety of chemical, biological, and physical tests required for research, development or quality control. They will also compile data for reports and assist in special studies in the laboratory and within a food manufacturing facility.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Finished product sampling for lab analysis.
  • Blend sampling for lab analysis.
  • Perform analytical and microbiological testing of ingredients and finished products.
  • Approve incoming material and ingredients
  • New Product Development - equipment/product testing/validation/sampling.
  • Participate in writing new product specifications
  • Environmental monitoring.
  • Perform equipment pre-op inspection
  • Perform daily quality checks online and record quality issues
  • Perform chemical, thermometer, and scale verifications.
  • Complete all necessary documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with document review and revision
  • Oversee startup and/or closing activities.
  • Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS OR EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED
    Education:
    High School Diploma or equivalent. BSc preferred
      Experience:
      minimum 1 year in a Quality Control position preferred, preferably for a food manufacturing company.
        Experience:
        1+ years in Food/Pharma quality lab
          Certifications/Licenses:
          N/A
          • Other preferred knowledge, skills & abilities: SQF, HACCP, GMP's, Food Defense, Root Cause Analysis
