Job Overview In this role, you will report to the Quality Manager in the Quality Department. The purpose of this role is to perform and monitor all activities associated with microbiology and testing to ensure microbiological contamination control of all products, including environmental monitoring and release testing. Responsibilities Perform activities for Environmental Monitoring (viable and non-viable, compressed air,) including sampling, monitoring, trending data, completing quarterly reports etc. Perform compendial testing on finished product, stability samples, USP Purified Water, etc. Serve as expert on bacteria, sterility, and micro contamination for investigations. Microbiology Methods - revise and perform periodic review. Microbiology Method Verification and Validation protocols -execute protocols and draft reports. Manage and perform release testing associated with micro. Micro sampling and testing associated with Cleaning Verification/validation and hold time studies. Monitor and aid Aseptic area activities (gowning qualifications, media fills, efficacy studies, PMT monitoring system). Characterize and identify local flora in production areas Identify, select, and procure equipment and/or technologies which will facilitate efficient micro work. Maintain room and equipment for micro lab including managing or performing validation activities. Write and/or review change controls, deviations and CAPAs, and OOS investigations. Requirements Bachelor's degree in microbiology 1+ years' experience in pharmaceutical or related industry preferred Excellent computer skills Self-starter with excellent follow-through requiring little supervision Knowledge of FDA regulations, GLP standards, CGMP practices, and aseptic techniques essential for compliance-focused work. Strong understanding of microbiological principles combined with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced laboratory environment.
