Job Description
Position Summary:
Provide microbiology Quality Control support to enable product release on time. These analyses include but are not limited to USP methodologies, for example: <60>, <61>, <62>, and <51>. Perform daily laboratory maintenance including supplies to ensure microbiology laboratory is always ready to support the Hydrox business. Practice good laboratory practice and good documentation practice where as appropriate.Essential Functions:
Perform microbiology QC analyses in accordance to USP methods or Hydrox standard operating procedures. These analyses include but are not limited to o Total Aerobic and Anaerobic Plate Count o Total Yeast & Molds Count o Pathogen Screening o Antimicrobial Effectiveness Testing o Suitability Test o Gram staining- Perform basic microbiology laboratory maintenance duties which include but are not limited to o Media preparation o growth promotional test o stock culture maintenance o supplies purchase o basic housekeeping activities for microbiology laboratory
- Perform equipment preventive maintenance activities
- Apply Good Laboratory Practice and data recording on all laboratory QC test related activities Comply with company policies and procedures including safety and attendance requirements
- Develop laboratory procedures as needed
- Perform other tasks as assigned by manager

Antimicrobial Effectiveness Testing Minimum Education, Abilities and Skills:
- Prefer Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Microbiology or equivalent experience
- 5+ years microbiology laboratory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Prefer familiarity with USP methods and criteria
- Prefer prior c
GMP, GLP, GDP
experience- Demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Must be a team player
- Lifting up to 40 lbs may be required
- Proficient in Excel Spread Sheet and Word Doc Working Condition The Senior Microbiologist will primarily work in a laboratory environment within the manufacturing facility.
